The Council is a voice-first planning app. You capture goals, habits, routines, and tasks, and a group of AI advisers — the Architect, Catalyst, Organizer, Archivist, Researcher, and Luminary — help you turn them into a workable day and adjust as things change.
Yes. The app's AI features are powered by OpenAI. Before anything is sent, the app shows you a disclosure screen that names OpenAI, lists exactly what will be sent, and asks you to agree. Nothing is sent unless you agree.
If you decline, the app still works as a manual planner and tracker — you simply won't get AI-generated plans or guidance. You can withdraw consent later in Settings. Full detail is in our Privacy Policy.
When you use voice capture, the audio is sent to OpenAI's Whisper service to be transcribed into text. The text is saved to your account; the audio file is discarded after transcription. If you don't grant microphone permission, no audio is ever recorded.
Open Settings in the app and choose Delete Account. This permanently removes your account and all associated data. If you can't access the app, email curtisgaye5@gmail.com or use the form below and select "Complete Account Deletion Request" — we action deletion requests within 30 days.
Yes. Email us from the address on your account and we'll send you a portable copy of your data.
When you create a goal, the app sends the goal description you wrote to OpenAI, along with relevant context such as your existing habits and available time. It comes back with a suggested structure of supporting habits, routines, and actions. Every suggestion is editable — you can change, reorder, or delete anything before or after accepting it.
Both are optional. Calendar access lets the app plan around meetings you already have. Health access reads your nightly sleep hours and daily step total so guidance reflects how you actually slept and moved. Both feed the planning the Council does for you, so — like your goals and habits — they are included in what is sent to OpenAI; our Privacy Policy lists every category. You can decline either, or revoke it later in iOS Settings, and the rest of the app keeps working.
Check that notifications are enabled for The Council in iOS Settings → Notifications, and that Live Activities is enabled in iOS Settings → Face ID & Passcode and in the app's own settings page. If they still don't appear, restart the app once, then email us with your device model and iOS version.
Pull down to refresh on the affected screen. If a change still hasn't appeared, sign out and back in — your data lives on our servers, so nothing is lost by doing this. If the problem persists, email us and describe what you changed and what you expected to see.
Use the Forgot password link on the sign-in screen to receive a reset email. If the email doesn't arrive within a few minutes, check your spam folder, then contact us.
The Council is currently free to use. There are no in-app purchases and we do not collect payment information.
